I Wish to Say (1)

These Xerox transfer prints were made at Marble House Project in Vermont during a Summer 2018 residency and were first exhibited in the exhibition Agitype: Changing the World One Letter at a Time, Lois and David Stulberg Gallery, Ringling College of Art and Design, Sarasota, FL, curated by Mark Ormond. The prints feature quotes from messages to the next U.S. President dictated in 2017 by participants in Sheryl Oring’s ongoing I Wish to Say project.

The prints were subsequently exhibited in numerous shows including at ArtPrize (2018), in the No Redactions exhibition at the Projective Eye Gallery at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2020), in the Secretary to the People exhibition at The Free Library of Philadelphia (2025), and in the Word Powered: Exploring Free Speech Through Art exhibition at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia (2025). Each print is 18 x 24 in.
